Sofitel Cecil Alexandria Hotel
Sofitel Cecil Alexandria hotel was built in 1929, but has kept up with the times. It is a four star hotel located a few short minutes from the airport, in the centre of the business district overlooking the bay and yacht club.
Location
Due to the location of the hotel, tourists can easily visit a number of historical monuments and museums. The hotel is only a few kilometres away from the Catacombs, the Quait-Bey Fort, the Roman theatre and the British Hospital. One can also visit the Greco Roman museum and the Royal Jewellery Museum. Finally, there is the Plats D’Or, the exclusively French cuisine restaurant, which is open only for dinner. Apart from the restaurants, room service is readily available, serving hot dishes and cold sandwiches, snacks, and coffee etc. 24 hours a day on weekdays.
Sofitel also has an in-house bar, the Monty Bar, serving cocktails and drinks, with live music daily from 6pm to 2am. The bar’s name comes from Marshall Montgomery, who stayed there during World War II.
